Edson Luiz de Sousa (Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul – BR)

 

Full Professor at the Department of Psychoanalysis and Psychopathology and Professor of the Post-Graduate Degree in Psychoanalysis: Clinic and Culture of the Institute of Psychology of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS). Researcher of CNPQ. Coordinator of LAPPAP - Laboratory of Research in Psychoanalysis, Art and Politics. Psychoanalyst and Analyst, member of the Psychoanalytic Association of Porto Alegre (APPOA). Post-Doctorate and Doctorate of the University of Paris VII. Post-Doctorate of EHESS (École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales), Paris. Visiting Professor at Deakin University (Melbourne), Critical Studies Institute (Mexico City) and De Paul University (Chicago). Author of the book "Uma invenção da Utopia" and "Sigmund Freud: Ciência, Arte e Política" (co-authored with Paulo Endo), among others.

Elida Tessler (visual artist and researcher)

 

Undergraduate Degree in Visual Arts from Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul- UFRGS. PhD in Art History from Université Paris 1 - Panthéon - Sorbonne (1993). Retired Professor at UFRGS. Founded and coordinated Torreão, a contemporary art space in Porto Alegre, with Jailton Moreira, from 1993 to 2009.

Researcher at CNPq from 2007 to 2016. Coordinated the research group .p.a.r.t.e.s.c.r.i.t.a. – artists’ texts and the presence of words in contemporary art productions, as a result of a growing artistic and academic interest in the relationship between art and image. Post-Doc at EHESS - École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales and at the Center of Philosophy and Art - UFR de Philosophie - Université de Paris I - Panthéon - Sorbonne (2009-2010).

 

Susana de Sousa Dias (University of Lisbon – PT)

 

Susana de Sousa Dias’s cinematic works have been exhibited worldwide at film festivals, art exhibitions and venues such as Berlinale, Documenta 14 (Keimena film program), PhotoEspaña, Sarajevo IFF, Torino FF, Visions du Réel, Pacific Film Archive, Harvard Film Archive, Museum of Contemporary Art of Ceará, CAM Gulbenkian, MNAC-Chiado, Centre Pompidou, ICA London, La Colonie (Paris), etc.

She has received several awards, among them the Grand Prix Cinéma du Réel and the FIPRESCI award (DokLeipzig) for her film 48. She was guest artist at the Robert Flaherty Film Seminar, New York.

She was co-Director of the International Film Festival DocLisboa in 2012 and 2013, opening up new sections such as Cinema of Urgency and Passages (Documentary & Contemporary Art).

She has a PhD in Fine Arts /Video and teaches at the Fine Arts Faculty of the University of Lisbon.

Fordlandia Malaise (2019) is her most recent work.
